Two experiences to understand energy: an augmented reality app that shows how an electric car works, and an interactive game for up to 4 players about which energy sources are best to use across Mexico.
This project, developed for MUCH (Museo Chiapas de Ciencia y Tecnología, the Chiapas Museum of Science and Technology), brought together two different developments with a single goal: helping visitors understand, in a hands-on way, where the energy we use every day comes from and what it costs to use it.
With the Android app, visitors pointed their device at a picture of a car and watched a 3D electric car appear, with animations and information about how it works — from the electric motor to how it differs from a combustion engine.
The second piece was an interactive Windows app designed for 1 to 4 people to play at once on a map of Mexico. Each player explored the available energy sources — solar, wind, hydroelectric and more — and learned about their cost, efficiency and environmental impact to decide which one made the most sense based on where each city is located.
