Privacy Notice
This Privacy Notice explains what personal data Teporingos Games collects, what it is used for, who it is shared with and how you can exercise your rights. It is issued in accordance with Mexico's Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (Ley Federal de Protección de Datos Personales en Posesión de los Particulares), published in the Official Gazette of the Federation on March 20, 2025.
It applies to our website, to the video games and apps we publish under our brand, and to any communication you have with us. Some products may have a specific notice; in that case, that notice supplements this one.
1. Data controller
Teporingos Games (hereinafter "Teporingos Games" or "we"), with its address in Tlalpan, C.P. 14100, Mexico City, Mexico, is responsible for the processing of your personal data.
Teporingos Games is a Mexican studio developing video games, apps, interactive experiences and custom software.

2. Personal data we collect
We only collect the data we need, depending on how you interact with us. Not every product collects all of this data.

We do not collect sensitive personal data (for example, about health, ethnic origin or beliefs). If a product or project ever requires it, we will let you know and ask for your express written consent before collecting it.
3. How we use your data
Necessary purposes (essential to provide you with the service or product):
- Respond to your messages, quote requests and inquiries.
- Run our video games and apps, including saving your progress and settings.
- Back up and restore your in-app purchases if you change devices or reinstall a product.
- Detect and fix errors, and keep our products secure.
- Enter into, perform and invoice contracts with clients, and comply with tax and legal obligations.
Voluntary purposes (these require your consent, and you may refuse without affecting the service):
- Send you news, updates and releases from the studio.
- Show you personalized advertising using your advertising identifier.
- Produce usage statistics and analyses to improve our products and design new ones. On the website, we do this with analytics cookies that are only turned on if you accept them.
How to opt out of voluntary purposes: you can decline the site's analytics cookies under “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of every page; unsubscribe using the link included in each email; turn off personalized advertising in your device or product settings; or email us at hola@teporingosgames.com stating which purpose you object to.
If in the future we want to use your data for a purpose other than those described here, we will ask for your consent again.
4. Minors
Some of our games and educational apps may be used by children and adolescents. In those products we do not ask for names, email addresses or contact details.
If you are under 18, use our products with the knowledge of your parent or guardian. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
5. Third-party providers and services
We rely on providers that process data on our behalf and under our instructions. Each one has its own privacy policy.

We never sell your personal data.
6. Data transfers
Some of our providers have servers outside Mexico, so your data may be stored or processed in other countries, mainly the United States. We only work with providers that commit to protecting your data with measures equivalent to those in this notice.
In addition, we may share your data without your consent only in the cases permitted by law, for example, when required by a competent authority or when necessary to comply with a legal obligation or defend our rights in legal proceedings.
7. Cookies, advertising identifier and similar technologies
On the website we only use Google Analytics analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_…, which last up to 2 years) to understand, in aggregate, which pages are visited and how the site is used. They are not turned on until you accept them in the notice shown on your first visit, and the site works the same if you decline them.
You can change your decision at any time under “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw your consent, we delete those cookies from your browser. We store your decision in your browser for 12 months; after that, we will ask you again. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
The site also stores your sound and night mode preferences in your browser (local storage), along with the carrots you collect in the teporingo mini-game. This information never leaves your device, and you can delete it by clearing the site's data in your browser.
The site's videos, such as the Blood Seed trailer, are played with YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). The player does not load until you press play; from that moment on, YouTube (Google) may store cookies or data in your browser under its own privacy policy.
When you give carrots to the teporingo, we add them to a public, anonymous counter that shows the total from all visitors. To prevent abuse, our server keeps an encrypted, irreversible fingerprint (hash) of your IP address for one minute; we never store the IP address itself, and the fingerprint is deleted automatically once that minute has passed and the site receives its next visit. We do not use it to identify you or share it with anyone.
In video games and apps we may use your device's advertising identifier to show you relevant ads and measure their performance. You can reset it or limit its use at any time:
- Android: Settings > Privacy > Ads.
- iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. On iOS we will ask for your permission before using it.
If you turn it off, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized.
8. Retention and security
We keep your data only as long as needed for the purposes of this notice: contact data for the duration of the relationship or until you ask us to delete it, progress and purchases while you use the product, and tax data for the period required by tax law (generally five years). After that, we delete or anonymize it.
We apply administrative, technical and physical measures to protect it, such as encrypted connections, access restricted to the team members who need it and providers with recognized security standards. No system is 100% secure; if a breach affecting your rights occurs, we will inform you without delay.
9. Your rights
You have the right to Access your data, Rectify it if it is inaccurate, Cancel it when you believe it is not being used properly, and Oppose its use for specific purposes (known in Mexico as ARCO rights). You may also revoke your consent and limit the use or disclosure of your data.
How to exercise them: send an email to hola@teporingosgames.com with the subject "ARCO Rights" and include:
- Your name and a way for us to reply.
- A form of identification or, if you are acting on someone's behalf, the document proving that representation.
- Which right you want to exercise and over which data.
- Any details that help us locate your information (for example, the product you use or your player identifier).
We will respond within a maximum of 20 business days. If your request is approved, we will carry it out within the following 15 business days. The process is free of charge.
If you believe we did not handle your request correctly, you may contact the Secretaría Anticorrupción y Buen Gobierno (Mexico's Ministry of Anti-Corruption and Good Governance), the authority on personal data protection.
10. Client projects and interactive installations
When we develop software, apps or installations for a client (for example, a museum, a brand or an institution), the client is the controller of the data collected by that product, and its own privacy notice applies. In those cases, Teporingos Games acts as a processor: it only processes the data according to the client's instructions and does not use it for its own purposes.
Our interactive installations usually work with sensors that detect presence or movement without identifying people. If an installation uses cameras, voice or any data that could identify someone, this will be disclosed on site through a visible notice.
11. Users outside Mexico
Our products can be downloaded in other countries. If you live somewhere with its own privacy laws (for example, the European Union or some U.S. states), you may have additional rights, such as data portability. Write to us and we will handle your request in accordance with the law that applies to you.
12. Changes to this notice and contact
We may update this notice due to changes in the law, our products or our providers.
